Continuous streams lasting several days are no longer uncommon on Twitch.

However, many streamers also put their health at risk.

Dortmund – In addition to YouTube as the largest video platform, the Twitch streaming platform has also become increasingly popular in recent years.

The live format is ideal for a wide variety of things, from music and DJ live streams, to speed runs, e-sports events, concerts or even football games, as the influencer Trymacs has already organized.

Marathon streams are particularly popular, in which streamers try to be online for a particularly long time and often want to entertain their audience for days.

This constant stress can be very exhausting and unhealthy.

The streamer Noahzett28 had to interrupt his stream for health reasons, as reported by IPPEN.MEDIA ingame.de.

Streamer needs to call 911 after Twitch marathon

What happened?

Twitch streamer Noahzett28 was live for almost 54 hours last week and entertained his viewers on his channel for several days.

But the streamer seemed to have taken on too much with his ambitious continuous stream.

After more than 48 hours of live streaming, the streamer began to show symptoms of exhaustion.

Apparently he also had dizziness, chest pains and his eyes went black.

The streamer then canceled his live stream and called an ambulance.

"I think I'm overworked.

[...] I don't even know why that just happened, my vision was really black and I also had a very funny chest pain.

I would actually continue to stream, but they sent out a car and said they wanted to take a quick look at it with an EKG.

[...]"

The end of the stream can no longer be found on Twitch.

However, the streamer uploaded a short video of the stream to TikTok, announcing that he was now ending his stream and that the ambulance was on his way.

In the clip, the streamer also shared a photo of the EKG it was hooked up to.

How is the streamer now?

In the meantime, the streamer from Dortmund seems to be doing better again.

He reported back via Twitter and announced a break there.

It is not yet known what the investigation revealed and how his streams will continue in the future.

How is the community reacting?

The streamer's community wishes him a speedy recovery in the comments and also hopes that he takes more care of his health.

  • Nic Garret comments:

Health is the most important thing.

Burnout and overwork are becoming increasingly common

Streamers often suffer from high stress:

it doesn't seem to be the first time that the streamer has pushed itself to the limit.

When asked that 54 hours is a long time for a stream, he replied:

"Before that, I was completely overwhelmed."

The burden on Twitch streamers and influencers from social media is very high these days.

In particular, the pressure to be permanently online and to produce content to serve the algorithm can leave people mentally and physically harmed.

In the past, German YouTubers reported more often about stress and panic attacks in everyday life.

These problems do not stop at the most well-known faces of the scene.

It wasn't until earlier this year that MontanaBlack had to take a break to recuperate and withdrew from the public eye for a while.
