A new documentary is expected to reveal cases of harassment and bullying behind the scenes of Britain's "X Factor," media outlets in the United Kingdom are reporting.

Two production companies are developing the TV movie, which will include interviews with past contestants of the music reality show - among them prominent participants whose identities have not yet been published.

Also, at least one of Simon Cowell's assistants - the show's creator and the person most identified with her - is expected to reveal inappropriate behavior patterns on his part in the film.

In The Mail on Sunday, a common weekend newspaper in Great Britain, a source close to the production was quoted as saying that "Simon Cowell should definitely be worried, as his former assistants are ready to break their silence and talk about what happened".

It should be noted that over the years, there were contestants who were not afraid to complain about problematic patterns of behavior and conduct on the part of the British "X Factor" production.

Last year, for example, a contestant named Katie Weissel, who came in seventh place in the seventh season, stated that one of the show's employees sexually harassed her.

The singer Chico Slimani, who was eliminated in the quarter-finals of the second season and was very successful in the British charts thanks to the hit "It's Chico Time", said that "I can't complain because I knew in advance what I was getting into, but they use you and take advantage of you - and you use on this platform to advance your career."

Flor East, another contestant from the second season, clarified that "You are an asset to them, measured only by your financial value. It's just an assembly line, and if you don't agree to do it, then someone else will take your place."

"X Factor" was broadcast in the UK in 2004, and dropped from local TV screens in 2018 after 15 seasons.

The successful program received dozens of international versions (including an Israeli version), and among its prominent British contestants are the bands One Direction, Little Mix and JLS, and the singers Ella Henderson and Cher Lloyd.

The latter even said in the past that she still holds a grudge against the producers, who made her "a kind of character" and then expected her to "be a serious and respected artist" (selected "X Factor" contestants are required to sign an exclusive recording contract with Seiko Music, which belongs to Cowell).

The broadcast date of the documentary has not yet been announced.
