Even for a week of vacation: this is how you will put all the clothes in the trolley without a struggle Israel today

The fear of losing their luggage takes its toll, and many Israelis who fly abroad have decided to settle for just a trolley.

Images of hundreds of lost suitcases standing abandoned in airports around the world have made their mark, and many Israelis who fly on vacations abroad prefer to give up the dubious pleasure of waiting for a suitcase that didn't arrive, and settle for a trolley that will board the plane with them.

• These are the most special trolleys you won't see at the airport

We checked with those who fly a lot and manage to get along with a trolley that doesn't hold too many things, how to learn to pack in this small suitcase items that will be enough for a vacation of up to five days.

Talia Klein Perez, manager of the "Travelers Abroad with Children" community, married and mother of three, often flies in a family group. "I almost always fly only with a trolley," she says, "everyone has their own trolley.

Only if we're flying on a long trip do I take a backpack, so that both my hands are free."

According to her, passengers should understand that a flight with only a trolley is suitable for those who are able to decide in advance what they will wear on each day of the trip, and less so for spontaneous people.

"For a five-day trip, I will take two pairs of pants - one for walking that I will wear and one more tailored, which will also be suitable for going out in the evening. I will also take four shirts, one of which has long sleeves, two dresses and tights. Regarding socks and underwear, I will take one pair for each day - and one more , just in case. If all the evenings at the destination are expected to be chilly, I recommend taking another sweater and another shirt with long sleeves."

She also adds that she takes with her flip-flops-sandals that are suitable for both walking and going out in the evenings, and if she is going to a destination where she intends to walk a lot - she will take closed shoes with her.

Alternatively, for a tummy-back vacation, she will take flip-flops with her to the beach and the pool.

"The rule is to get on the flight wearing the heaviest clothes, the ones that take up the most space in the trolley. In addition, I recommend taking a sweatshirt for the flight that will fit in case it gets cold on the plane, and will also serve us for a cold evening at the destination," she says.

Talia says that she takes the clothes that are most comfortable for her, but also those that look good to her, and admits that she does not bother too much with fashion statements when she travels.

So what do you do when you need cool looks for Instagram and accessories like hats and bags?

We contacted Liri Horesh-Rinman from the blog "Travellery", who always looks modeled and fashionable in the trips described in the blog, and we asked if she also only flies with a trolley.

"I just flew to Cyprus for a week with only a trolley, and it was excellent. At least eight suits went into my suitcase, all of them short, and only on the flight did I wear long pants and take a jacket," she says, adding that she also took two swimsuits and flip-flops with her.

Like Talia, Leary also details that "the secret is not to just throw items you like into the suitcase, but prepare looks in advance and pack them as sets", and to this she adds another recommendation: "Take items in neutral and light colors, without prints, that you can easily mix and match with ', and it will always look good - short jeans, a white skirt and items in beige tones will always look good even in combinations between them. It is recommended to plan four looks for the day and two looks for the evening, and on the rest of the days and evenings change to a shirt or skirt/pants. I recommend taking a dress as well Lightness in a neutral color, which will go well with any hat, shoe and bag."

As for packing accessories for photo shoots, Leary recommends old hats, which both upgrade the performance and don't take up space: "I take two or three hats, usually straw hats of a different color and style, and put them inside each other, and inside the hole of the hat I place a bag with underwear Or something else. In the extra bag I take, I put my underwear and that way every space is used."

Roll or fold?

After we have decided what to take, all that remains is to pack smartly, and here there are three methods - to fold, to roll or as Liri does it: "I move from the closet to the suitcase, but I use every space, like the example of the hat and the bag."

Unlike her, Talia prefers to roll each item and arrange it in the suitcase like a puzzle: "I roll socks and underwear inside a shirt, and then I have everything ready when I want to get dressed. I first arrange a bag with shoes in one of the corners of the trolley, and I put the rolled clothes around. For the little children I plan closed sets that include a shirt and pants for each day, and I roll each such set with the socks and underwear in it. It is also recommended to choose the sets with the children, and take a few extra sets because their clothes tend to get dirty or wet."

In the children's trolley luggage, Talia allows each child to put one stuffed animal and a small board game.

In the small backpack she carries with her on the plane, she takes a reading book, a crossword puzzle book and a medicine and first aid bag.

For the children, she also takes in her bag tablets with headphones, a craft kit with stickers and colors and some food.

"Sometimes, when you get to the plane, there is no more room for the trolley and you may decide to take it down to the belly of the plane, so I also put a brush and toothpaste, an extra shirt, underwear and socks in the small backpack in case the trolley doesn't arrive."

Perfumes and cosmetics

Another problem is the 10 milliliter limit for bottles with liquid, which requires the use of small packages of lotions and toiletries.

Leary suggests stocking up on samples of high-quality shampoo or skin care products that are given in pharmacies, "that do not exceed the limit and also give an opportunity to try a new product."

Talia, who was flying in a family group, added: "Sometimes it's better to buy shampoo and soap abroad because the prices are very cheap.

I transfer the other care products such as face soap, makeup remover and creams to small plastic vials.

I put everything in a reusable bag, so even if something spills, it won't spill out."
