The President of Damascus University, Dr. Muhammad Osama Al-Jabban, discussed today with the President of the Iranian Malik Al-Ashtar Technical University, Dr. Qassem Taqizadeh and the accompanying delegation, ways to enhance and develop joint scientific, academic and technical cooperation.
During the meeting, the two sides discussed the terms of the scientific and academic memorandum of understanding signed between the two sides last year and the areas of cooperation it included and the possibility of developing an executive program and a timeline for its implementation on the ground.
Dr. Al-Jabban gave a brief overview of Damascus University, its faculties, and the specializations it teaches, and expressed the university's desire to find common grounds to deepen cooperation with the Iranian University of Al-Ashtar, especially in the field of exchanging information and scientific knowledge and benefiting from the research experiences owned by the university in the field of technology, software, industry, production lines and research laboratories. and implementation of joint research projects.
For his part, Taqizadeh affirmed full readiness to cooperate with Damascus University in the scientific and research fields and everything related to development programs, research, studies and research projects for Syrian students according to the university's needs and priorities in this regard.
The meeting was attended by the vice presidents of Damascus University and the deans of the engineering and technical faculties at the university.
The Iranian universities of Damascus and Al-Ashtar Technical University had signed in Tehran last November a memorandum of understanding for cooperation in the fields of research, postgraduate studies, technical sciences, mechanics, robotics and computer sciences.
