After an auction in New Zealand, body parts were found in the suitcases that had been sold.
The homicide commission is now investigating, as a police spokesman said in Auckland on Tuesday.
A family from a suburb of Auckland called the police last Thursday after making the grisly find in the suitcases that had been bought at the auction, said police agent Tofilau Faamanuia Vaaelua.
According to investigators, the family is completely unsuspicious in the case.

She'd acquired the suitcases at an auction of items that hadn't been picked up from a warehouse - or for which the bill for storage hadn't been paid.
Identification is now a priority for the police, "so that we can determine the full circumstances of the find," Vaaelua said.
The body parts would already be autopsied.
According to the police, coroners are in the process of determining the number of possible victims.
