    Eighteen months earlier, she fell from an oak tree while shaking it to harvest acorns for her animals and dislocated her right arm.

    The operation did not work miracles: in addition to a weakness in the forearm, the last two fingers of the hand are paralyzed, impossible to stretch or bend them.
