(ANSA) - WASHINGTON, 16 AUG - The United States today tested an unarmed long-range nuclear missile.
This was announced by the Air Force Global Strike Command, according to what is reported by CNN.
The Minuteman III ICBM was launched from the Air Force Base in Vandenberg, California, and traveled 6,700km to Marshall Islands.
It was a "routine test", explained the Air Force, "to prove that the US nuclear arsenal is ready."
The test was canceled on August 4 when House Speaker Nancy Pelosi was visiting Taiwan to avoid an escalation with China.
