Vitali and Natalia Klitschko are no longer a couple after 26 years of marriage.
This was confirmed by Vitali Klitschko of the "Bild" newspaper.
"We filed for divorce together," said the former professional boxer and current mayor of Kyiv.
Natalia and he have lived in different cities for several years, Klitschko said.
While the 51-year-old continues to live in Kyiv, which has been fought over for months, Natalia Klitschko is staying in Hamburg with their three children, Max, 17, Elizabeth, 19, and Yegor, 22.
Natalia Klitschko recently told the editorial network Germany that her children would try to lead a normal life in Germany.
“But the guilt remains.
You feel guilty because you are safe here and the people we love are in Ukraine and are fighting for us.«

Despite the great distance and the separation, the contact between Natalia and Vitali still seems to be stable.
"We have a very good relationship with each other and respect each other," said Vitali Klitschko of "Bild".
Natalia also only emphasized in March how close the relationship with Vitali was.
The 48-year-old said in a TV interview that she was in daily contact with her husband.
“The kids ask about dad every day.
You know that he has a lot of worries," she said on the "NDR talk show".
Like her husband, Natalia Klitschko used to be a competitive athlete.
After her time as an artistic swimmer, she released her first album »Naked Soul« in 2016, on which she mainly sings in Ukrainian and Russian.
