(ANSA) - ROME, AUGUST 17 - The curve of hospitalizations slows down again Covid.
The total number of patients present in hospitals, both in ordinary wards and in intensive care units, fell by 13.7% in one week.
This is what emerges from the report of 16 August of the sentinel hospitals belonging to the Fiaso network (Italian Federation of health and hospital companies).
The reduction in hospitalizations continued for the second consecutive week: in the survey of 9 August a net decrease of 20% was recorded.
The percentage of PerCovid hospitalized patients is 42% while that of Covid patients represents the majority of 58%.
In particular, patients in ordinary Covid wards decreased more, -13.8%, compared to intensive therapies, which reduced the number of beds occupied by 10.8%.
However, with regard to Covid resuscitations, these are small numbers.
It should be emphasized that those hospitalized in intensive care, notes Fiaso, all have a high average age and for over 90% of cases are affected by other pathologies.
Furthermore, the age difference between vaccinated (average age 71 years) and unvaccinated (67 years) remains between patients in intensive care and, among other things, those hospitalized for Covid, who have developed a respiratory pathology typical of Covid disease, are for 40% novax.
