Ezra Miller, star of the next Warner Bros. superhero film
The Flash
, announced on Tuesday August 16 that he suffers from mental health problems and has started treatment after several arrests by the police.
"Having recently gone through a period of intense crisis, I now understand that I suffer from complex mental health problems and have started to undergo treatment,"
the artist said in a statement sent to AFP by his representatives .

Ezra Miller, 29, who has already played the Flash character in several big productions like
Justice League
, was charged with burglary in early August in Vermont, and with disturbing the public order after two arrests in Hawaii.
These incidents - and allegations of a physical confrontation with a woman in Iceland that did not result in a complaint - have raised questions about the future of the
Flash
movie and, beyond that, its career.
"I want to apologize to anyone I may have worried and upset by my past behavior,"
adds the statement, in which the incarnation of the Flash also claims to want to
"do the work necessary to reconnect with a healthy period, safe and productive of (his) life”.
Despite these controversies, Warner Bros. recently confirmed plans to air
The Flash
, slated for next summer.
The shooting of the film, whose budget is estimated at 200 million dollars, has already been completed.

.
The artist, who presents himself as non-binary, went on to star as the superhero Flash in several Marvel-competing DC Comics universe films in 2016 and 2017.
