Many of us were enthusiastic about the series "Game of Thrones", even if it dropped in quality towards the end.
It is therefore all the less surprising that the new spin-off series “House of Dragons” is awaited with great anticipation.
George RR Martin "Blood and Fire - House of Dragons"
Although the author George RR Martin has not yet reached the final volume with his main series "Game of Thrones", he has already written down the history of the house Targaryen.
What the Silmarillion was to Tolkien fans is now coming from George RR Martin - the epic prelude to A Song of Ice and Fire / Game of Thrones!
Three centuries before the series begins, Aegon Targaryen conquered the continent of Westeros with his sister-consorts and their three dragons.
The reign of his descendants lasted 280 years.
They survived rebellion and civil war - until Robert Baratheon overthrew the insane King Aerys II from the Iron Throne.
This is the history of the great house of Targaryen, written by Archmaester Gyldayn, transcribed by George RR Martin.
"Fire and Blood - House of Dragons"
I'm also curious if the new series will have a better ending than the main series "Game of Thrones".
In any case, the whole thing will be a family event again, with popcorn and together in front of the television.
World premiere is August 21, 2022.
The books are well written, engaging, and they deviate only slightly from the Game of Thrones series and are a bit more detailed.
We'll see how House of Dragons fares.
