The water police recovered a so-called stick incendiary bomb from the Second World War in a lido on Lake Constance.
A bather discovered the dud on Tuesday afternoon in the shallow water of the bath in Friedrichshafen and notified the emergency services, the police said.
Bombs of this type are still very dangerous, the police warned.
Anyone who finds a suspicious object should therefore not take it out of the water, but only inform the water police of the location - so that their specialists can take care of the removal.
Man finds a grenade on the Rhine and takes it to the police
On Monday, a man found a grenade on the banks of the Rhine in Eltville, Hesse, and took it to a police station.
The man was unable to properly classify the metal object discovered in a dried-up part of the river bed, the police said.
He decided to take the find to the local police.
There it was quickly recognized that it was an explosive grenade.
The visitor parking lot in front of the police station, where the man had placed the grenade, was cordoned off and the explosive ordnance clearance service was called, it said.
The experts therefore found that the explosive charge of the grenade had been flushed out over the years.
The police in Hesse also emphasized in their statement that such finds could pose a life-threatening danger: "If you discover such objects yourself, please leave them where they are and inform the police."
