Institutional services, in conjunction with the summer departures, were intensified with the use of 1,834 station patrols and 172 on board the train.

18 unaccompanied minors were tracked down and returned to their families or placed in communities and 36 foreigners found in an irregular position.
Controls strengthened also during the extraordinary operation "Safe stations", scheduled in anticipation of major departures on the weekend of August 15th.
The activities, also supported by canine units and by patrols of the Crime Prevention Department, saw 1,139 railway police officers engaged in the 482 airports concerned.
