This was demonstrated by a drunken man from Rathenow in Brandenburg, who said he wanted to use this rather unusual method to get rid of vermin.
He set off an explosion.
As reported by the police in Brandenburg an der Havel, a witness reported the explosion on Tuesday evening.
According to initial findings, a resident of an apartment building had introduced gas into the sewage system on the property in a previously unknown way.
Then there was an explosion.
Charged with causing an explosives explosion
According to the information, manhole covers were thrown several meters through the air on the affected site and on two neighboring properties.
Nobody was injured.
A breath alcohol test on the alleged culprit showed a value of 1.36 per mille.
Officials took down a charge of causing an explosive device explosion.
The extent of the damage could not be quantified.
