The hunt for energy waste continues.
The mayor of Nancy (Meurthe-et-Moselle), Mathieu Klein (PS), has just signed a municipal decree reminding motorists that the Highway Code prohibits leaving your vehicle's engine running when stationary, outside of the circulation.
This action in favor of sobriety is in line with those of other cities, such as Paris.
After prohibiting stores from keeping their doors open when the air conditioning was on at the end of July, the police in the capital began issuing fines to offenders.
Will the same scenario happen again in Nancy, or even in the rest of France, where we risk a fine of 135 euros for engines left on when stopped?
