The new adaptation primarily focuses on the enigmatic and dark character of Wednesday Addams in college, where she must learn to master her psychic powers while trying to solve disturbing murders around town.
The series mixes the codes of crime fiction and fantasy tales.

In the casting, Netflix takes on a regular of the house to play Wednesday, Jenna Ortega seen in
You.
Catherine Zeta-Jones will be Morticia: the terrifying mother with a pale complexion, Luis Guzman will play Gomez, the hair always slicked back and the young Isaac Ordonez will wear the short pants of little brother Pugsley.
Christina Ricci, the interpreter of Wednesday Addams in the cult version of 1992 was also announced in the casting without it being known in what role.
Tim Burton, in his element with the dark and disturbing universe of
the Addams family
, is not alone on the project.
He collaborates in particular with screenwriters Alfred Gough and Miles Millar who reminded
