Organized once a year in Paris by the agricultural union Modef and the Communist Party, the solidarity market offers direct sales to defend a fair price "for consumers and farmers".
“For example, we sell a kilo of tomatoes at 2.70 euros, whereas in supermarkets in Paris, they are sold at 3.50 euros or even 4 euros per kilo,” says Raymond Girardi, vice-president of Modef.

For Nadine, this market is an opportunity to make more purchases than usual… And to replenish her stock of potatoes for the winter.
Because with the rise in the price of fruits and vegetables, this retiree is restricting herself to these foods.
"Sometimes we don't buy any, we have to be very careful," says Gérard, another customer.
According to the consumer association “Family Rurales”, the prices of fruit and vegetables have jumped on average by 11% in the space of a year.
