While carrying out a spacewalk to install cameras outside the ISS, Russian cosmonaut Oleg Artemiev was forced to quickly return to the International Space Station due to a battery problem on his combination.

“Drop everything and start going back inside” the ISS, the ground operations center ordered him, just after the Russian reported anomalies in his spacesuit data.

On board the ISS since March 2022

"Oleg, you must return to the airlock as soon as possible," he was repeatedly asked, according to the video broadcast released by NASA.

"Please don't worry, it's fine," he was also told, however.

" Me ?

Worried ?

Never in life, “immediately replied Oleg Artemiev.

The cosmonaut finally reached the airlock where he plugged directly into the current of the ISS.

He then waited for the second cosmonaut who participated in the exit, Denis Matveev, to recover the equipment used during the mission before closing the airlock for good.

“The situation is under control (...).

The cosmonaut's health is not threatened," the Russian space agency, Roscosmos, said in a statement.

Oleg Artemiev had joined the ISS in March 2022 as commander of the Soyuz MS-08 mission.
