Apple warns of a flaw that allows hackers to take control of iPhones, iPads and Mac computers and is urging users to install emergency software updates.

The updates, known as 'patch', were released in the last few hours to correct the very vulnerabilities that cybercriminals could already be aware of and take advantage of.

"We are aware of a report that this problem may have been actively exploited," the Silicon Valley-based company explained.

Apple has not disclosed if it has information on how the vulnerability was used, it appears to have been discovered by an anonymous researcher.

The technical description indicates that a hacker could use the bug to take control of devices, accessing any data, for this reason 'patches' have been released for iPhones, iPads and Mac computers on operating systems that have presented this problem

As the Cbsnews website reports, security experts advise users to update the affected devices which are: iPhone6S and later models;

different iPad models, including 5th generation and later, all iPad Pro and iPad Air 2 models;

and Mac computers with MacOS Monterey.
