(ANSA) - PARIS, AUGUST 19 - The Elysée has confirmed that the Russian president, Vladimir Putin, has given his agreement - in a phone call with the head of the Elysée, Emmanuel Macron - to the deployment of an IAEA mission to the Ukrainian nuclear power plant by Zaporizhzhia.

    The Elysée recalls that this is the first conversation between Putine Macron after the three-way (with the German Chancellor OlafScholz) on 28 May last.

Macron once again expressed to Putin his concern in the face of the risks for the situation at the Zaporizhzhia nuclear power plant, supporting the dispatch of an IAEA expert mission to the site as soon as possible, under conditions approved by Ukraine and the nations. Unite ".


    The Russian president, added the Elysée, "has expressed his agreement for the deployment of this mission and the methods evoked".
