(ANSA) - ROME, AUGUST 19 - The incidence of Covid-19 cases and the Rt transmissibility index in Italy are still dropping: the weekly incidence at national level is in fact equal to 260 per 100,000 inhabitants (12/08/2022 - 18/08/2022) against 365 per 100,000 inhabitants last week (05/08 / 2022-11 / 08/2022).
In the period 27 July - 9 August 2022, the average calculated Rt on symptomatic cases was instead equal to 0.77 (range0.74-0.80), a decrease compared to the previous week, when it was equal to 0.81.
This is highlighted by the weekly monitoring of the Higher Institute of Health and the Ministry of Health on the progress of the Covid-19 epidemic.
The employment rate in intensive care is down to 2.7% (Ministry of Health daily survey as of August 18) vs 3.2% (Ministry of Health daily survey as of August 11).
The employment rate in medical areas at national level drops to 11.0% (daily survey by the Ministry of Health on 18 August) vs 13.0% (daily survey by the Ministry of Health on 11 August).
