Moto gp Austria: free 2 in Zarco, fifth Ducati Bagnaia

Ducati roar on Friday free practice ahead of the MotoGP Grand Prix in Austria.

On the Red Bull Ring in Spielberg it is the two-wheeled Red who is the master with three bikes in front of everyone in the last session.

Frenchman Joan Zarco is the fastest, followed by Jack Miller Miller and Jorge Martin.

World champion Fabio Quartararo with Yamaha 'played' in defense closing with the fourth time, followed by four other Desmosedici: in addition to rival for the title Francesco Bagnaia with the fifth time there are Luca Marini, sixth, Marco Bezzecchi, seventh , and Enea Bastianini eighth.    

Aleix Espargaro's Aprilia was out of the top ten, while after yesterday's press conference Marc Marquez showed up in the Honda garage to help the team in developing the bike.    

After the 1-2 this morning signed by Miller-Zarco, the Frenchman repeated himself in the free two of the Red Bull Ring, going to conquer the first place and the best overall performance on Friday with his 1: 29.837.

In just 40 thousandths there are four drivers: Zarco preceded Miller by 24 thousandths and 29 thousandths of his teammate in Pramac Martin.

The Spaniard beat Quartararo by 11 thousandths.

Slightly more detached 'Pecco' Bagnaia (+0.160), while the Aprilia seem to have to recover something, considering the ninth position of Maverick Vinales and the eleventh of Espargaró, currently out of Q2.

In addition to the two Mooney drivers, Brad Binder is also in the top 10.    

The other Italians are behind: Franco Morbidelli (Yamaha) is seventeenth ahead of Andrea Dovizioso (Yamaha RNF), Fabio Di Giannantonio with the remaining Ducati, and Lorenzo Savadori on the third Aprilia.

To record the falls of Miguel Oliveira and Raul Fernandez, with the first drops of rain and many off-piste: from Rins to Vinales and Aleix Espargaro, up to Bagnaia.

The World Championship at the Red Bull Ring, the 'home' of KTM, was the occasion between the first and second free practice sessions to announce the arrival in MotoGP of the GasGas brand from 2023 as a satellite team of the Austrian company.

The first driver will be Pol Espargaró, alongside him one between Remy Gardner and Augusto Fernandez.

'In reality, the choice is not limited to the two of them', explains Francesco Guidotti, KTM team manager.
