CASTIGNANO - After two years of absence he returns to Castignano (Ascoli Piceno) "Templaria - The Nights of the Middle Ages".
The 31st edition of the historic festival opens on 17 August and is dedicated to "Humanitas contra Pestes", a theme that will inspire the shows and conferences of the event in the village until Sunday 21 August.
Thirty theater companies, 156 artists, 82 shows every night for a total of over 400 shows.
For over 30 years, Templaria Festival has offered itself as a cross-section of medieval life with theater, music, exhibitions, conferences, but also banquets, taverns with medieval menus, artisan shops.
Walking through the streets of the historic center, during the days of the event, will retrace the history of the Templars.
"This year we want to bring to the attention of a wider audience also social issues and the inclusion of the new generations - says Eros Iacoponi, president of the Pro Loco - which are the basis of the creation of Templaria itself and its role within the community. Three generations of people from Castignano collaborate within the commemoration, from grandfather to grandson, all deserving of our most sincere gratitude ".
For the 2022 edition there will be more shows on stilts.
In addition to the Compagnia dei Folli and that of Rummy as a central performance, there will be two half-hour shows to allow everyone to watch without the long waits of previous years.
There will not only be street theater, but also juggling, puppetry, traveling theater, dance with its different forms and performances with fire to sparkle, a technique with artists who surround themselves with a cloud of fire.
There will be the "Tetraedro" with niche shows and shows exclusively for the festival.
Tickets can be purchased directly on site, in the three entrances to the village, Porta da Sole, Porta Santa Maria and Porta Crociata.
