Red dot traffic for the first weekend of the Augustan counter-exodus.

Starting this afternoon, traffic is expected to increase steadily along the Anas network (FS Italiane Group).

In particular, Viabilità Italia provides a red sticker, starting today and for the rest of the weekend, Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 August.

The sections involved are the main road and motorway arteries, in the direction of the northern regions and towards the large urban centers, but also for the last departures in the direction of the holiday resorts, in particular along the Adriatic, Tyrrhenian and Ionian ridges and at the passes border towards France, Slovenia and Croatia.

The consistent flow of traffic in the vicinity of large cities is expected mainly from late Sunday afternoon,

in conjunction with weekend returns.

Tomorrow, Saturday 20 August, from 8.00 to 16.00, and Sunday 21 August, from 7.00 to 22.00, there is a ban on the transit of heavy vehicles.

The traffic will concern in particular: the A2 "Autostrada del Mediterraneo" which crosses Campania, Basilicata and Calabria;

state roads 106 Jonica and 18 Tirrena Inferiore in Calabria;

the A19 Palermo-Catania and A29 Palermo-Mazara del Vallo motorways in Sicily;

the state road 131 Carlo Felice in Sardinia;

the state road 148 Pontina in Lazio;

the E45 itinerary which involves Umbria, Tuscany, Emilia Romagna and connects the north east with central Italy;

the main roads SS1 Aurelia (Lazio, Tuscany and Liguria), SS16 Adriatica (Puglia, Molise, Abruzzo, Emilia-Romagna and Veneto).

A penultimate weekend in August opens at Fiumicino airport, again characterized by terminals full of holidaymakers who have maintained an average of over 100,000 passengers a day for the Roman airport for some time.

Flights are regular.

There are returns after the August holidays but also new departures to reach more or less distant destinations, as well as foreign tourists arriving in the Bel Paese, to visit our cities of art, islands or the Amalfi coast.

In this further phase of exodus, among the preferences of travelers Sicily, Sardinia, Puglia;

for those who fly abroad, the destinations are varied, with islands and seaside resorts in the Mediterranean but not only: Palma de Mallorca, Ibiza, Lefkas, Fez, Kos, Kefalonia, Santorini, Mikonos, Corfu.
