The association claims to be the victim of a cyberbullying campaign because of the distribution of a poster showing a transgender person.

A poster that makes the far right talk.

Family Planning, an organization in charge of sex education and access to abortion, says it is the victim this Friday of an online harassment campaign.

The reason ?

Dissemination of campaign posters evoking the possibility for transgender men to become pregnant or menstruate.

The association, “its activists and its leaders have been the object of an extremely violent attack since August 18, 2022 on Twitter and other social networks, from far-right personalities and their sympathizers. es”, describes Family Planning in a statement released in the afternoon.

"These attacks take the pretext of a poster presenting a trans person to call for our desubsidization, to question our legitimacy as an association for the defense of women's rights and the fight for the right to abortion", denounces the organization .

The poster in question shows a transgender and pregnant man, accompanied by the slogan “At Family Planning, we also know that men can be pregnant”.

“A disturbing drift”

A campaign particularly badly received in the sphere of the extreme right.

“The “inclusive” Booklet which “is aimed at both paid and non-paid people” was supported by a grant from the Department (your taxes!);

all this pisses me off!

“#FamilyPlanning is moving further and further away from its original mission to become a conduit for gender theory activists.

A worrying drift, especially when we know that it is empowered to intervene in our schools, including with minor students, ”commented RN MEP Thierry Mariani.

Feminist activist Marguerite Stern, known for her outings deemed transphobic, for her part assured that "Family Planning" was becoming a "danger for women".

The outcry against Family Planning also triggered a wave of support on the left, in particular from the PS mayor of Paris Anne Hidalgo, who castigated "hate attacks".

The EELV party condemned "firmly the transphobic cyberbullying that targets Family Planning" as well as the artist behind the information campaign.

Family Planning claims to be consulting its "legal advice to prosecute" the personalities behind the tweets and reactions deemed transphobic.

"Sexual and reproductive rights are a whole: at Planning we do not prioritize them", defends the association.
