Hip, hip, hooray: late summer is here!

Have you noticed that the days are getting shorter again?

An unmistakable sign that summer is slowly but surely coming to an end.

Paradox with temperatures over 30 degrees and sunshine ☀️.

But even if you may be sad about the upcoming change of seasons, I have good news.

There is hardly a better time for foodies, because many local fruits and vegetables are now finding their way to the regional weekly markets.

Even better: many wine festivals are slowly starting again 🍇!

Our recipe for a sweet tarte flambée with pear and plum would certainly look good at a wine festival.

What do you think?

That's how it's done:

You only need a few ingredients:

  • Tarte:

  • 1 pear, sliced

  • 1 plum, sliced

  • 1 pack (270 g each) of puff pastry on the refrigerated shelf

  • Cream:

  • 250 g crème fraîche

  • 30 grams of sugar

  • 2 tbsp lime juice

  • 3 tbsp honey

  • toppings:

  • Cinammon

  • walnuts, chopped

  • honey

You prepared the tarte flambée in 5 minutes:

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C.

  • For the tarte flambée:

wash the pear, cut in half, remove the core and cut into thin slices.

Wash the plum, also halve, deseed and finely slice.

  • For the cream:

Place the crème fraîche, sugar, lime juice and honey in a small bowl and stir well.

  • Unroll the puff pastry onto a baking sheet and spread the prepared cream evenly over it.

Spread the pears and plum slices on the tarte flambée

    Tip:

for a nicer look, stack a plum slice on top of a pear slice.

  • Bake crispy for about 20 minutes.

  • For the toppings:

Decorate the flammkuchen with cinnamon, walnuts and honey as you like.

  • Done - good Appo!

  • I'll have a piece of that too!
