After the gruesome discovery of two suitcases containing the remains of children in New Zealand, the police have apparently found the mother of the victims.

According to "CNN" and "The Korea Herald", the woman is said to live in South Korea.

Accordingly, the New Zealand citizen entered South Korea four years ago.

She never left the Asian country after that.

A family from a suburb of Auckland had recently bought two suitcases containing the body parts of the children.

The cases containing the remains had apparently been stored in a storage room in New Zealand for years.

According to the New Zealand police, the children had probably died several years ago.

According to the official, the mother held Korean citizenship before acquiring New Zealand citizenship "a long time ago".

Police did not provide the woman's name or other identifying details and could not confirm if she was born in South Korea.

It is not known where the woman is currently staying.
