A phenomenon that people do not like to talk about: domestic violence.
When it's the little ones who tend to do it, it becomes difficult.
Here's how to prevent it.
They bite, hit and rage: There are adults who have to defend themselves against their children.
The other way round, however, it is reported more often when parents hit their children.
But if a parent is physically abused, you have to know how to help yourself, right?
At least that is the popular belief.
Expert clarifies: When children hit their parents, it is due to their upbringing
But it is also a fact that when boys and girls get older, bigger and stronger, some mothers and fathers are unable to counteract the physical attacks.
However, there are not a few who experience this in everyday life.
Experts estimate that in around 10 to 16 percent of families, children use violence against their families.
But what do psychologists say about such violent outbursts?
Too strict or too lax?

This often doesn't happen overnight.
Instead, it's a downward spiral.
It usually starts with the children stepping on their parents' noses.
They don't take them seriously, don't follow rules and even insult their mother and/or father.
If the parents cannot stand up to this behavior, the offspring keep exploring their limits.
They increasingly lose respect for their legal guardians, which can eventually lead to open violence.
Expert explains: Children need rules and boundaries
As the educator Birgit Kärgel reports to
Stern
, another problem is today's style of education.
While previous generations were brought up in a very strict to authoritarian manner, parents today want to do everything right and give their offspring (a lot of) freedom.
But if you are too lax and constantly give in, you will get the reward.
Because children need rules from an early age and someone to show them the way.
Only then can they learn to set limits for themselves and show someone else the way.
But what to do when the worst has already happened?
