According to SPIEGEL information, the public prosecutor's office has indicted six people in the case of the beaten Dilan S.
The alleged perpetrators are said to have racially insulted the then 17-year-old in a Berlin tram at the beginning of February and then beat her on the platform.
The public prosecutor's office confirmed the charges on request.
The allegations are insult, threat and dangerous bodily harm, and are directed against three women and three men between the ages of 24 and 54 years.
Dilan S. had to be treated in hospital as a result of the attack.
The Tiergarten district court is now examining whether it will allow the indictment.
The case caused a nationwide sensation, as the Berlin police wrote in a press release shortly after the incident that the adults had told Dilan S. in the tram that she was allegedly missing a mask.
This resulted in a dispute that escalated.
Several German media picked up the report.
S. spoke up shortly afterwards in a video on Instagram, in which she said she had worn a mask.
"I was beaten up yesterday because I'm a foreigner," she said in the video.
It was viewed three million times in a very short time, and the police then had to correct their account.
Video footage from the tram showed that Dilan S. was wearing a badge.
The Berlin interior senator said about what had happened to S. "I'm very sorry," but she also defended the police.
