A thief is on the run in New York's Times Square.
A policeman takes up the wild chase with his horse.
Mounted police officers in Times Square in New York are not uncommon.
But to be there live in a wild car chase is something very special for most people.
After a robbery, they experience at first hand how a police officer gallops on his horse after a thief.
In order not to lose the culprit, the path leads through the middle of the traffic.

On his foray, the thief is after a total of seven pairs of sunglasses, which he stole from a sales counter.
When the dealer catches him, the perpetrator threatens him with a piece of broken glass and flees onto the street near West 40th Street and Seventh Avenue.
After the robbery, the 60-year-old turns to a police officer on a horse for help.
The officer then keeps an eye out for the thief and doesn't have to look long.
After his crime, the man calmly strolls through the city.
His red backpack is so conspicuous that the policeman immediately spots him on horseback.
Because on the back of their horses, the police riders have an excellent all-round view.
But when the officer wants to stop the thief, he suddenly takes to his heels.
Like a horse jumping out of the trailer in the middle of the freeway.

Without further ado, the policeman takes up the pursuit.
From the sidewalk he rides across the street and finally at full gallop into oncoming traffic.
The officer's bodycam records the exciting scenes with the intrepid riding style.
After a few hundred meters, the wild chase ends on the other side of the street, where the police colleagues finally arrest the 34-year-old thief.
His offenses: first-degree robbery, second-degree threats, and criminal possession of a weapon.
The New York Police Department (NYPD) shares the police officer's spectacular ride in traffic on Twitter and writes: "All of your NYPD officers are involved in the fight against crime, even the four-legged ones." Police horse Samson probably deserves an extra reward for this.
The Twitter community, which diligently comments on the video, agrees.
Here is a selection of the comments:
"I hope the horse got a nice juicy apple for doing such a good job."
"Good boy!
Give that cop a carrot.”
"Yee Haw!
