Two children did not survive a swimming accident in Simmerath near Aachen in North Rhine-Westphalia.
As the police announced, the seven and nine-year-old boys were initially reported missing on Thursday evening around 6 p.m. at the natural outdoor pool on the Rursee.
A little later, the children were found lifeless in the water.
Although the two boys were initially resuscitated, they subsequently died in hospitals.
How the accident happened is still part of the investigation, the spokeswoman said.
