Antivax posters in Toulouse: the prefecture has issued an order to have them removed

At the same time, the authorities also initiated legal proceedings by sending a report to the Toulouse prosecutor.

The government had announced it, it is now done.

A prefectural decree published this Saturday bans the posters hostile to vaccination against Covid-19 which have flourished in Toulouse in recent weeks on several billboards.

A contradictory administrative procedure, "prior to the taking of a prefectural decree", had been launched at the beginning of the week.

In a press release, the Haute-Garonne prefecture indicates that the posters must be removed within three days.

Friday, August 19, the Secretary of State in charge of Citizenship, Sonia Backes, announced that she had asked the local authorities to act.

“Alerted to the anti-vaccination poster campaign underway in Toulouse, I asked the prefect to use the appropriate legal remedies to put an end to it (…) A prohibition order will be issued, and a report sent to the Public Prosecutor of the Republic,” she said.

On panels located on the grounds of several individuals in Toulouse, large posters denouncing supposed harmful side effects of vaccination against Covid have been placed.

“1 cardiovascular accident for 100 injections: the health of our children is better than experimental vaccines”, can we for example read on this panel planted in the garden of a private residence in the Cocus district in the north of the city.

Contradictory administrative procedure

The message displayed on the panels is accompanied by a link to a European database on the adverse effects of vaccines against Covid-19.

The webpage states, however, that "the information presented on this website does not reflect any confirmation of a potential link between the drug and the observed effect(s)."

This veritable “advertising campaign” is the work of the self-proclaimed “Independent Scientific Council”, of “Réinfo Covid” and “Réinfo Libertés”, collectives made up of health professionals opposed to vaccination.

On August 22, the prefecture of Haute-Garonne and the Occitanie Regional Health Agency announced that they had also "engaged in legal proceedings by sending a report to the Toulouse prosecutor".
