The European water polo championships in Split begin smoothly for Setterosa, who in the debut match for Group B, dominates Slovakia 26-1 (6-1, 8-0, 4-0, 8-0).

Match without history for Italy, ahead 14-1 in the middle of the match, which scores ten players of movement (only the debutante of Di Claudio dry), with five of Palmieri, hat-tricks of Avegno, Giustini, Bianconi and Marletta, braces from Picozzi, Bettini and Cocchiere and a goal from Tabani.

Carlo Silipo's national team, fourth at the World Championships in Budapest, will return to the water tomorrow at 20.30 against Spain, which in turn overwhelmed Serbia 32-3, in the decisive match to close the group in the lead and have a quarter-final more easy.

"A simple game, as the result also says - commented coach Carlo Silipo - But with the LEN rules it is important to have a wide goal difference in the group. It was a good training: we entered the game immediately and the girls have broken the ice in the best possible way. We have to prepare as best we can now for Sunday's match against Spain which, if successful, could open the door to a good quarter-final. "
