(ANSA) - ISLAMABAD, AUGUST 28 - The death toll from monsoon rains and floods in Pakistan has reached 1,033 dead and 1,527 injured, according to the official government toll.
Among the dead there are also 348 children and 207 women.
In the past 24 hours 119 people have been killed and 71 others injured in accidents caused by rain and floods.
Since June 14, monsoon rains have damaged 949,858 homes.
The rivers in the northwestern province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have overflowed and the waters are now shifting to the provinces of Punjab and Sindh.
Rescue activities are continuing at full speed throughout the country.
