(ANSA) - ROME, AUGUST 30 - Mikhail Gorbachev, the last leader of the Soviet Union, died at the age of 91.
He was announced by the Central Clinical Hospital of Russia, where he was staying.
"Last night, after a serious and prolonged illness, Mikhail Sergeyevich Gorbachev died", reads the statement released by the hospital and reported by Tass.
