Broadcaster HBO has already commented.

Even if many fans were very disappointed with the "Game of Thrones" finale: The new series, which is based on George RR Martin's fantasy epic, is already very well received after the first few episodes.

According to Warner Bros., "House of the Dragon" even broke the record for the most-watched series premiere on HBO - over 20 million tuned in to the first episode.

In a statement, Warner and HBO announced that the Targaryens story will continue with a second season.

As for the scripts, creator George RR Martin has written down more than enough material for more seasons.

It is still unclear when fans can expect Season 2.

If HBO is based on "Game of Thrones", new seasons could appear on an annual basis.

Maybe the producers will succeed in reconciling disappointed fans with HBO after the "Game of Thrones" finale.

In any case, the first episodes of "House of the Dragon" have shown that many viewers have not yet completely written off Westeros.
