(ANSA) - RIAD, AUGUST 30 - A Saudi woman was sentenced to 45 years in prison for her posts on social media, a few weeks after a similar sentence imposed on a fellow student at the University of Leeds: 34 years for spreading dissidents' tweets .
She says the human rights NGO Democracy for the Arab World Now (Dawn), a Washington-based group founded by the murdered journalist Khashoggi, who shared a copy of the court document.
Nourahal-Qahtani received the sentence on appeal after being convicted of "using the Internet to tear apart social tissue" and "violating public order".
