New function in Apple Maps: It's even ahead of Google Maps

Google Street View has been around for a long time.
Now Apple has followed up with its look-around function and shows the whole country down to the smallest detail.
Munich – The Apple Look Around function has been available on some of the manufacturer's devices since April.
The new Apple Maps function is finally available nationwide.
For all those who work with Android devices, it's something like Google's Street View feature.
Only better, as Apple-sworn users always like to claim.
In the Apple "Maps" app, you can now view cities in an interactive 3D function and virtually look around towns and villages with a 360-degree camera.
New function in Apple Maps: 3D view even in small villages
The app is easy to use.
A click on the binoculars icon at the
bottom left
is enough to start the all-round view.
According to

, the image material from Apple is from 2020 in many places. In some cities it is said to be even more up-to-date.
The app works not only in big cities, but also in narrow streets of small towns.
With the 3D map function
Look Around
, Mac, iPhone and iPad users can now start their journey to their destination virtually.
After a previous test phase in Munich, the function in Apple's maps app has been activated for the whole of Germany, but it only works on Apple devices.
In the US, the Apple panorama has been around for three years.
In Germany, around 80 camera vehicles have been scanning the streets and facades since the end of July 2019 in order to spice up Apple Maps with the virtual view from the car roof.
In car-free zones of large cities, people were out and about with camera backpacks.
Apple Look Around feature: Images are newer and not pixelated
This is exactly where the big difference to the competitor product from Google lies.
In April 2011, the group announced that it would not be taking any new street pictures for the time being.

Thus, most of the recordings on Google Street View are more than ten years old and the houses are usually even pixelated.
Not so at Apple.
If you want your house to be pixelated, you have to email Apple.

, between 15 and 20 entries have been received since April, most of which people wanted to be completely pixelated – by default Apple only makes faces and license plates unrecognizable in the raw data.
If you do not want your house to be shown on Look Around, you can appeal.
