For Amazon customers, sending returns is much easier.

In return, however, the employees in the DHL parcel shops will have to do more work.

Bonn/Munich - Amazon customers generally have 30 days to return goods that they do not want to keep free of charge.

To do this, the item must be packed in a suitable box, a label printed out and stuck to it.

Then you give the shipment to a parcel shop, be it one of DHL, Hermes or UPS.

New returns service for Amazon customers: Simply bring unpackaged goods to a DHL parcel shop

According to a media report, Amazon wants to make it easier for its customers to return goods.

According to the Paketda.de portal, parcel shops from the logistics company DHL have received an information letter announcing the new “Retoure Unverpackt” service.

This will be introduced on October 10th.

In the future, many Amazon customers will be able to bring their returns to the DHL branch without a shipping box.

Accordingly, customers who want to return an item to Amazon no longer have to pack the product at home.

It is also no longer necessary to print out a label on your own PC.

Instead, they simply take the goods to the DHL parcel shop as is.

There they receive a suitable paper bag in which to stow the goods.

To print out the label, Amazon provides customers with a QR code that is shown to the parcel shop staff.

It remains to be seen whether the online giant will generate even more controversial returns by simplifying the process.

New returns service for Amazon customers: Returns go to the returns center after seven days at the latest

According to the letter, the paper bags with the returns are collected in the branch in a corresponding box for up to seven calendar days and then sent to Amazon.

However, it is still unclear whether the purchase price will be refunded to the customer upon delivery to the parcel shop or only after receipt at the returns center.

For Amazon customers, the new service makes returning products more convenient, they don't have to pick up the shipping box or boot up the PC to print the label.

But it takes longer in the parcel shop, which can probably lead to waiting times.

New returns service for Amazon customers: Unsuitable goods must be returned as usual

The unpackaged returns mean additional work for DHL parcel shop operators.

According to information from Paketda.de, they should receive additional remuneration for this.

However, it is unclear whether this will cover costs.

However, the Return Unpackaged service is not offered for all Amazon products.

If the goods do not fit in the shipping bag, the customer must pack them in a suitable box as usual.

This also applies to heavy and fragile products.
