Family parking spaces, e-car charging points, disabled parking spaces and green areas with trees: Lidl and Kaufland customers are now faced with another space-consuming parking space change.

Parking lots change and modernize regularly.

Where horse-drawn carriages were once tied up and bales of hay distributed, electric cars are now parked and charging electricity.

The guidelines for parking spaces are also changing.

Drivers should definitely avoid making a mistake when setting the parking discs, as

echo24.de

reports.

And they have grown much larger in relation to the past.

An SUV takes up almost as much space as several small cars - the trend is towards large cars.

But now another space-consuming change is to come to the parking lots of some Lidl and Kaufland branches.

Rental bikes in the parking lots of Lidl and Kaufland branches: Schwarz Gruppe cooperates with nextbike

The Schwarz Group wants to promote sustainable mobility by starting a cooperation with the European market leader for bicycle rental systems.

nextbike is the name of the company that is now setting up 20 stations with rental bikes in Lidl and Kaufland branches in North Rhine-Westphalia.

Initially, the stations for rental bikes can only be found in two Kaufland and 18 Lidl branches in Bochum, Bonn, Duisburg, Düsseldorf, Essen, Gelsenkirchen, Hamm, Herne, Cologne and Oberhausen.

It remains to be seen whether supermarket car parks throughout Germany will soon be equipped with nextbike bike rental stations.

According to the Schwarz Group's press release, the cooperation between the Schwarz Group and nextbike is to be "further expanded in the future".

But be careful when the parking lots are getting full: At Kaufland/Lidl there are parking lot rules and violations can even land you in jail.

New mobility offer in supermarket parking lots: fast and uncomplicated via app

The bike rental system from nextbike should work as quickly and easily as possible.

It works similar to most e-scooter rental systems.

Once registered with nextbike, the bikes can be rented around the clock via the app in front of the Lidl and Kaufland branches.

All rental bikes are provided with a basket so that, for example, shopping can be transported.

The bikes can be returned at any nextbike station within a city area, as well as in defined areas directly on the side of the road.

Another innovation in many supermarkets is that the fresh food counters will now often close earlier.

Likewise, Kaufland only changed its offer when buying eggs.
