(ANSA) - VENICE, 03 SEPT - Alberto Bartolo Varsalona, 21, with the short story 'La Spartenza', the winner of the 27th edition of Campiello Giovani, reserved for young people between 15 and 22 years old and organized by the Il Campiello Foundation -Confindustria Veneto.

"I am very excited. I finally did it," he told ANSA Varsalona, who is from Palermo.

"I have tried several times, among other things always imposing a series of limits on myself. I wrote using a linguistic breadth that goes from the dialect to allirism and therefore the previous editions I participated by limiting myself.

This year was the last chance, because I am 21 years old and I said to myself: 'I write a free story'.

So I'm doubly happy to have won this way.

I think there is an identity between reading and writing, I can't write on the white page, I build on the built.

I need to move within models, some that I already recognize, others that will come in the future.

For now I read, I experience, then I hope one day to have the strength to translate it on the written page contranquillità ".

Chosen by the Literary Jury, chaired by WalterVeltroni, from among the five short stories that reached the final, BartoloVarsalona was announced on the day of the final of the 2022 Campiello Prize. to a noble regional and national literary tradition. The writing plays between Italian, dialect and courtly language, giving voice to a community of Sicilian fishermen. At once cultured and popular, the text overturns the usual perspective of Mediterranean migration "explains the jury's motivation.

The special mention of the Gruppo Giovani di Confindustria was also assigned for the best story that dealt with the theme of business culture, to the very young Marcello Pagliantini, 17 years old, from Pianezze (Vi), for the story "You, thin filod'erba" and the recognition special for social and environmental sustainability, assigned by the Technical Committee of Campiello Giovani, to the story "Mamma neve" by Caterina Borini, 22, from Cerea (Vr).
