As we arrive in the new series from the Game of Thrones universe, House of the Dragon, one man holds the power, Viserys I Targaryen.
The king actor Paddy Considine is anything but a blank slate in series circles.
What character does Paddy Considine play in House of the Dragon?
Viserys I Targaryen reigned from 103 AC to 129 AC.
He succeeded his grandfather, the aged king Jaehaerys I, whose peaceful reign he continues.
But the seeds of the civil war, which will go down in history as Dance of the Dragons, also cast their shadows.
He is married twice.
At the beginning of the new fantasy series he has to deal with the painful loss of his first wife Aemma Arryn.
The dream of a male successor also bursts quite early in the pilot episode.
Viserys then decides to set up his daughter as his successor.
The actor Paddy Considine has probably not had to make such difficult decisions so far.
