The streaming service of the trading giant decided to freeze for 72 hours the option of writing comments about the series, and this in order to anticipate a remedy for the blow that was observed, so they saw, on other sites

"The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power", the new series based on the books of J.

R.

R.

Tolkien (the plot is actually a prequel to the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy), was launched just two days ago on Amazon Prime, and is already breaking viewership records.

Amazon reports 25 million views within a day for the first two episodes in the 240 countries where viewing is possible - an all-time record for the e-commerce giant's streaming service.

Not surprising, since this is the most expensive television production of all time: about half a billion dollars were invested in filming the first season of "Rings of Power", and many viewers want to see what all the fuss is about.

What's more, this is a brilliant adaptation of one of the favorite literary fantasy works of all time, so it already comes with a built-in and enthusiastic fan base.

But in a surprising move, Amazon decided to take action and froze for 72 hours the possibility of writing reviews of the "rings of power" on its platform, in order to filter out trolls.

Then,

This is a precedent-setting and controversial step on the part of Jeff Bezos's empire, but in today's maddening and toxic internet reality - a reality where anyone can pour enormous amounts of venom just because some production includes brown-skinned characters who did not appear in its original literary version - perhaps this is a sensible step .

"The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power",

Indeed, despite relatively positive reviews among professionals, it turns out that a great many ordinary "fans" are not satisfied with the "rings of power" for one reason or another, and vent their frustration on various review sites.

On the respected website Metacritic, for example, the series holds a positive weighted review score of plus 71 from professional critics, but with a poor score of 1.9 in the "public opinion" category, with a lot of round zero scores.

In their brief reviews, many viewers claim that the series "doesn't do justice to the original works"/"doesn't feel like Tolkien"/"motivated by political considerations" and "spits in the fans' faces", while many complaints are even tainted with pure racism and bemoan the portrayal of brown elven characters Skin, "and there are none in the books."

"The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power",

Also on the IMDB website, which is owned by Amazon, the series currently holds an average user review score of 6.6.

A legitimate score, but a quick look at these reviews shows that no less than 33 percent gave "Rings of Power" a perfect ten, while 25 percent gave it a humiliating zero.

And what about the eight numbers in the middle?

A few percentages for each score, which proves that the votes are not serious and driven by extraneous considerations and/or whims.
