On September 5, the activities of

a new center for street children of

the Missionaries of Charity, the order founded by Mother Teresa, will be inaugurated in Calcutta, along the very central Park Street.

The opening will coincide with the celebrations

to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the nun's death

of Macedonian origin,

proclaimed blessed by John Paul II in 2003 and saint by Pope Francis in 2016.

"We continue to carry on the legacy of the Mother, freely offering all the good we can", says Sister Mary Joseph, superior general of the order since the first months of this year.

Also tomorrow, shortly after dawn, the head office of the order will open its doors to allow the faithful to attend mass, in the room that houses the tomb of the Saint.

"The communities of Catholics will hold masses and moments of prayer throughout India to remember the figure and example of the mother", confirmed to Ansa by the Apostolic Nunciature in Delhi.
