In the new series House of the Dragon, Ser Otto Hightower is portrayed by Welsh actor Rhys Ifans.

What character does Rhys Ifans play in House of the Dragon?

The wily Otto Hightower was a knight of the House of Hightower who served three kings as the King's Hand.

In HotD he is in the service of Viserys I, sending his daughter Alicent to comfort the monarch after his wife died.

Such ideas would hardly come to the actor.

Rhys Ifans started acting while still at school.

But his face shot to world fame in 1999 when he played Hugh Grant's messy roommate, Spike, in the romantic comedy Notting Hill.

Rhys Ifans is now very busy making several films a year.
