House of the Dragon Free on YouTube - But there's a catch

Set 200 years before Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon is already a huge hit.
The first episode is now available for free.
Hamburg – House of the Dragon is already considered one of the series hits of this year.
The story takes place 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and tells the prequel to the hit series from HBO.
However, in Germany you can only watch this series on the pay TV channel Sky.
The first episode is now surprisingly available on YouTube and was uploaded there by the broadcaster HBO himself.

The broadcaster HBO, which produces House of the Dragon, surprisingly uploaded the first episode of House of the Dragon of the new series to YouTube.
The pilot episode of House of the Dragon lasts over an hour and can usually only be seen in Germany on the pay channel Sky.
Important:
HBO inserted a geo-block several hours after uploading the video.
This means that German users can no longer watch the first episode on YouTube.
However, this geo-block can be circumvented with a VPN.

However, the episode is only available in English.
For the German version you have to have a subscription to Sky.
In the English pilot episode, however, you can get a good picture of House of the Dragon and that will help you decide whether you want to take out a Sky subscription for House of the Dragon or not.

The story takes place approximately 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones and revolves around the War of Succession within the Targaryen dynasty.
The series has already been well received by critics and fans alike.
It was the most successful series start of an HBO original series, episode 1 alone was viewed almost 10 million times when it was first broadcast.
House of the Dragon got a 69 out of 100 on Metacritic.
