(ANSA) - PERUGIA, 04 SEPT - "The escalation of energy and food prices risks frustrating economic growth. According to some projections, almost a million jobs are at risk and it is a luxury that we cannot allow": to say it is was the general secretary of the CISL, Luigi Sbarra, on the sidelines of the Cortile di Francesco, in Assisi, where he participated in the conference "Work, employment and dignity".
"We ask the government - he added - to adopt an urgent measure aimed at freeing up resources with a view to supporting businesses, families, employees and retirees".
"The Government - explained Sbarra - must evaluate this phase as extraordinary, thus putting in place resources that can be drawn from the extra profits of energy companies, logistics multinationals and digital companies. But, to an extreme extent - underlined the secretary - it is necessary to take also taking into account the budget variance ".
For Sbarra "Europe must also do its part, putting a cap on the price of gas".
The CISL secretary also called for "greater energy autonomy" on the European side.
