Chemistry is quickly resorted to.
But it is much easier to use certain home remedies to drive away houseflies.
They get in the way, buzzing around and settling on food or our face.
The house flies are very annoying and in certain cases they can also transmit diseases.
As they settle on feces or other dead animals and then on food, harmful bacteria can be passed on.
One more reason to look for home remedies to get rid of the insects as quickly as possible.

Houseflies don't live long.
However, in their short lifespan of just a few weeks, they can lay up to 1,000 eggs.
A single fly can therefore very quickly become a veritable plague.
Garbage, excrement or compost are regarded as breeding grounds.
With simple home remedies, the fly plague can be contained quickly.
Drive away flies: These home remedies help
You can wave the newspaper or keep opening the window.
However, you will not be able to drive the housefly out of the apartment permanently.
A scent barrier made from certain plants can help keep the little pests from getting too close.
Crops such as lavender, basil or tomatoes are part of a natural scent barrier.
On the terrace or window sill, they naturally drive away flies.
Geraniums can also be an effective barrier.

If you don't have any of the above plants on hand, make your own scent barrier using eucalyptus and lavender oils.
Put a few drops of this on a scented cushion or in a fragrance lamp and the flies will flee.
Essential oils often help against mosquitoes and wasps without having to resort to chemicals.
Tips against too many flies
Before you worry about driving away the flies, see if you can contain the causes.
These simple measures reduce the number of flies in the apartment very quickly:
Dispose of leftovers.
Especially in the summer months, flies like to settle on unpackaged food and leftovers in the kitchen.
Rotting fruit is the ideal breeding ground for flies.
The larvae hatch within a very short time even at room temperature.
Therefore, regularly sort out rotten fruit.
Empty the trash can regularly.
Especially in the warm months you should take out the rubbish here more often and clean the rubbish bin thoroughly.
The traditional fly screens help against a large part of the flying pests.
These can also be quickly and easily retrofitted to existing windows.
These tips should help you not to resort to chemicals immediately when dealing with flies and fruit flies.
With simple steps and home remedies, the fly plague can be contained, if not eliminated entirely.
