A 65-year-old mountain hiker fell to his death on the Mittenwalder Höhenweg.
The man was accompanied by a 42-year-old woman when the accident happened on Monday.
The man slipped on Monday shortly after the southern Linderspitze and fell about 200 meters over steep rocky terrain, said the police headquarters in Upper Bavaria South.
An emergency doctor could only determine the death of the crashed person.
The Mittenwalder Höhenweg lies in the Karwendel mountains
According to the police, the via ferrata climber had experienced mountaineering.
He had equipment adapted to the tour.
The police now want to determine the exact cause of the accident.
