The secretary general of the CFDT Laurent Berger goes to the National Council for Refoundation (CNR) on Thursday to find out "
whether Emmanuel Macron's method will be loyal or not
" and judges that there is not "
the option of sulk
” when one is a trade unionist.
"
When you're a trade unionist, you don't have the option of sulking, you have the option of going to open consultation spaces
", he declared on RTL this Thursday morning while FO and the CGT in particular will not go to the CNR.
“
We have the impression of attending a boulevard theater at a time when we are at a tipping point and where there is a situation of enormous concern for the French
”, he judged.
“
Either we decide to fuck ourselves, or we sit around the table and take the problems one after the other
,” he summed up.

But Laurent Berger intends to first question Emmanuel Macron on “
the method
”.
"
I want to know if it's fair or not (...).
On the issues of employment, health education, ecological transition, do you commit to being a little more in co-construction, to listening to your interlocutors and being in a logic of confrontation of ideas?
".
"
I have no reason to believe in disloyalty but I want action
," he said.
Opposition to pension reform
On the pension reform, the number 1 of the CFDT raised his voice again to reaffirm his opposition to a postponement of the legal retirement age.
"
It's no now and it's no always (...) This is not the time to set the country on fire with a pension reform
", he estimated, assuring that, if the government persisted in his project, "
the CFDT would call for mobilization
".

As for the reform of unemployment insurance wanted by the executive, who wishes to modulate it according to the economic situation, Laurent Berger also expressed his reluctance.
"
It's a totally ineffective measure, it's pure dogmatism
," he said, judging that "
it won't solve anything
."
